The chances of surviving this computer being built are a million to one, never tell me the odds :P

This is going to be the webserver and mail server, you know all the external facing stuff, probably dns too, I ditched most of the parts you can see below and rescued an old server from a clients, a compaq proliant p3 550 with 512mb of ram and a couple scsi drives. Managed to get another voltage regulatory (why do compaq's need these) and I had another slot 1 p3 550, and got another couple scsi drives from another client, now just to get it back from another client that has "loaned" it. Well got it back, then shortly after moving the site to it the power supply died, bought a newer smaller server from Overclockers-Australia's for sale forums.

New one is a dual p3 866 with 768mb of ram, and two 36gb 10,000 rpm scsi drives in raid1 (got rid of the 9's just a wasted of space power and noise). It will be running Ubuntu Edgy 6.10 with Apache 2.0 and Mysql 5 an php. It will host this and all sites in my domain, haven't decided on a mail server yet. Drive will be ghosted after install and web and mail dir's will be rsync'ed as backup, there will also be an IDS installed and other security measures like an MD5-sum of the drives to verify file integrity, and chrooted enviroment for web/ftp/mail/dns.
